Hi Oshaban and No Sleep EA v3.2 users,

I can see a hope in forex after running your bot for a week. I would run it for atleast a month before I decide to invest my real money on it. I am finding little difference in the trades takes verses the setting I am using which is making it difficult to decide on the best settings. Please look at the below case. I have attached an image of the setting for a trade pair. According to the setting, the trades were taken with lot size in the below series- Please refer the attached images

0.03
0.03 (Never understood why it is repeated)
0.05
0.08
0.13

I was expecting next lot to be of 0.08x1.66 = 0.13 after 0.08, but the bot took 0.23 which I never want as it can be very dangerous for a $1000 account. I prefer to handle DD myself after total trades taken for a trade pair exceeds 5. My slippage setting is also very high and I made sure there was no wide spread when the lot 0.23 was taken. Can you explain me the reason for it please? What am I missing?

Secondly, the setting 'Start PSM After Trades' value is 1. If I am correct, the pip step would get multiplied after first trade. Which one is considered as 1st trade , the first 0.03 or the second 0.03?
I have tried setting the value to 0 but the behaviour remains the same.

Thirdly, If you observe the trades taken at different steps as per the settings, I don't see them following the settings correctly. For eg, in the attached image,

For Pip Step = 10, PSM = 1.5

#1 0.03 - 1.41786 --Difference 0
#2 0.03 - 1.41612 --Difference 17 , it should ideally be 10
#3 0.05 - 1.41333 --Difference 28 , it should ideally be 10x1.5 = 15 pips
#3 0.08 - 1.40992 --Difference 34 , it should ideally be 15x1.5 = 22 pips
#4 0.23 - 1.40285 --Difference 71, It should ideally be 22x1.5 = 33 pips

But it seems it has not followed the order, Can you please tell me what am I missing? I have been trying to understand the calculation but I never got success. I need help on this badly.
Thanks in advance.

you can share your experience with us it will be a big help for others :)
Sure, I shall share but after 2-3 months. Its too early to share something at the moment. I want to test it in every Market condition. Thanks. Keep reading the threads, you would know something new daily.

Regarding these pairs.. Did you run these on Grid Averager Pro as well? Or only No Sleep EA?

GBPCAD
GBPAUD
GBPNZD
GBPCHF
EURAUD
I used to use No Sleep EA, but then I moved to oShaban Grid-Averager-PRO-v2.1. Also, I changed the pairs that i used to trade to different pairs.

hello Mr Oshaban. i've been using No Sleep EA v3.2 for sometimes now. recently i changed to new VPS using windows server 2012 R2. since using this new VPS, the EA wont start opening order with the time filter = true. But if i set time filter = false it works like it normally do . do u have any opinion what is the problem? is it windows or vps related issue?
I would suggest you to check the server time and date. Also, check the time zone as well and let us know.

Yes.. Which pairs are you running now. Is it still profitable? I'm experience quite a high DD today, changed time frame to 4 hours.. Let's se....

Your questions in short are ...
1- Why always get first 2 orders have the same lot value?
2- Why you get lot size = 0.23 instead of 0.13?
3- Will PSM count the repetative order?
4- Why PSM doen't follow the PipStep Calculations?

Answers ...
1- Second order is intiontionally done as a repetative from first order to decrease the account total risk.

So, there is no mistake in this.

2- Getting 0.23 as lot size instead of 0.13 is really strange.
You should not play with settings or even open it once you start first order to minimize such thing to happen.
Do visual backtest and see what lot sizes sequence you get. Is the sequence correct? It should be so ...
Then, sure you did something like playing a lot with settings? Changing settings while EA already opened
orders for the same pair or something else that you forgot that you did it.
Give it an other try with not touching anything.

3- Yes. The PSM is counting the number of opened orders for the same pair regardless to lot value.

4- Always remember that the EA open new order at the opening moment for the new bar. So, if the distance
between current price and last open price at the moment of the new bar open is less than the calculated new
PipStep, then the EA will not open the new order.
So, logically, the distance will be equal or bigger (>=) than the calculated distances.
As I see, all numbers you give are satisfying this. Aren't they?

Yeah finally it was posted after three days of wait. I was checking every hour after I posted to see if it is up.
Thanks a lot Oshaban for taking out time and clarify my queries. Regarding 0.23 lots, since I was testing in demo account, I didn't touch it once I set it and it was on the very first day. Anyways, It could be something else as I was running another MT4 instance(another broker) with same setting and there I didn't see the jump, so its still a mystery. I shall also try running it using Strategy Tester for the same day and check what caused the error.

Regarding Answer 4- Its wonderful. I never realized that it would wait for a new candle to place the next order and not just when price has reached the calculated PipStep. It makes sense and safe too . No one had explained this particular point like you did and hence it was always a confusing element for me. Finally I understood why people in the thread have recommended to move to higher time frame when DD goes high. :) . Now things make more sense. I would share results frequently. Appreciate your time and effort to explain.

Hi ,
I tried your last trading pairs and found them to be good so far. GBPNZD is so far the best I have found. It ranges quite nicely which makes it apt for the bot. I am also running on the major pairs GBPUSD, EURUSD, USDJPY , USDCAD. Surprisingly USDCAD performs quite well out of the four. I also tried XAUUSD but left as it gives too much of DD.
What are the new pairs you are trading on? Share us so as to test and trade. Thanks in advance.

This week I'm trading with five pairs because i raised the balance. From my little experience these pairs are doing good with this EA: EURJPY, GBPJPY, NZDCAD, USDJPY, USDCHF.

Good Luck

I would strongly suggest you to leave GBPNZD and GBPCAD away because it has very high movement. In the last 30 days it was 328 for GBPNZD and small accounts will not be able to survive against this movements. Right now i'm trading with EURJPY, GBPJPY, NZDCAD, USDJPY, USDCHF.

How do I get the No sleep 3.2 version? I clicked on the link in the first page, but I can't find it on that page the link went on.
